Single word and photographs

This collection of images were made after a critique that I had. The images I had made prior weren't strong and didn't achieve that impact that I had wanted which was agreed with by my peers. It was suggested that I remove most of the text and leave one word. Doing this allows my images to be direct. It allows us to explore the words and its meaning. Makes you examine the image closely and ask questions such as "what is deathly?" "Who's smile?"

I found that being more direct with what words I wanted to use the photographs look more complete. But before I continue with this process I am going to experiment with using the whole text which I wrote in Scotland. Doing this was also suggested in my critique. Using the whole text might provide a wider context to my images.  I will experiment with that idea but handwritten rather than on photoshop because I want it to be personal.
