Book Binding
This first bookwasmade with the intent of allowing it so stand up by itself and because a 3D frame but with a sculptural element. I did this because I wanted to try experimenting with the idea of displaying multiple images at one time which can then be places anywhere within a home. This book I had made turned out well and is the first bound book I have made but the paper used isn't very strong to allow it to stay stood alone up for a long period of time. The size was too small for myself personally because it is hard to see the images and the detail within them. My images are intended to be viewed in a large format so this book is counter productive.
The following two books were made rather quickly and were made to allow me to get my head around binding my own books and arranging pages. These books are my preferred method or making books because I am all to take control over how large each individual image is and where to place them on a page. This form of documenting my work in a book is great for me to look back on when I develop further within my art practice, but they aren't great and professional enough for public display and consumption. Due to the current situation this is hard because I am unable to get professionally printed books made so to counter this I am going to explore more with book binding.
This style of book binding took a lot of time and patience to master but is my preferred way of displaying my work in a book format at this current time. To me this is the most professional form of book binding that I have made and is something that I would sell to the public. I found that I had good control over where I could place my images but I want to experiment with this style or binding but have my images stretch from corner to corner or a page. This will allow me to use the entire space of a page and help the details within the images be revealed.
